If you haven't heard about them yet, you NEED to (and I'm sorry I haven't blogged about it sooner)!
Lowe's has something called "Build and Grow Clinics" every other Saturday ALL YEAR LONG! These are FREE clinics for your little ones to build really cool things - from basketball hoops to castles & trains to firetrucks!
With your first clinic, your little builder will get a little apron & some safety goggles to keep! Each clinic you get a kit with the parts, stickers & instructions to build & they let you "borrow" the hammers to assemble them right in the store! After they finish, your little builder gets a certificate & a little patch for their apron! I was sewing these on our little guy's apron, but now they are iron-on patches! (I'd like to think they got the idea from me, but I doubt it.)
These clinics have been a GREAT learning experience for our little builder! These are "designed" for ages 5 and up (per their website) but our toddler LOVES them! He has learned how to hold a hammer & that he should ONLY hammer on the nails. He also loves following along on the instruction page (the steps are numbered and he's learning to count)! We have done about a dozen of these with him so far!
Today we built a little chalkboard "art station"! Here are a few pics!
It's even easier to keep track of which clinics you've done & what ones are coming up with the BRAND new website: http://lowesbuildandgrow.com
Register for FREE & then login & see what clinics are coming up & easily register online! You can print the waiver form right from home to make it that much smoother when you arrive at the store!
The next clinic will be the Game Show Chip Drop game! (Here is a photo from the Lowe's website)
Doesn't it look like SO much fun?!?! It's on April 14th, so our little builder will get to make this one with Grandpa in NJ while we're visiting for Easter/Spring Break!
Be sure to register as soon as these open up on the website - each store only gets 50 of each kit & since it's FREE, they are really popular & fill up fast! Also, you have to get there by 10:15 so you are guaranteed your kit (show up after that & they may have given it to someone who was waiting for no-shows)!
