Help Send Expired Coupons to Military Families Living Overseas!

Hello readers!

Today I want to talk about 2 things "near and dear" to my heart - Couponing & Military Families!

Now you probably dont' think about these 2 things at the same time, but I do!

In this economy, we all know that a paycheck just doesn't go as far as it used to... for military families that's doubly true. We don't get "pay raises" like many civilian jobs get. Ours lately have BARELY (if at all) covered the increase in prices of everyday NECESSITIES.

This is where couponing comes in! I want to teach other military families how to use coupons to save money & help their paychecks go FURTHER!

Since I'm now living in Germany, I'll be starting with military families in "my own back yard". The great part about starting here is that military families living overseas can use manufacturer coupons up to 6 (yes SIX) months after they expire!

I have a dear friend and fellow blogger, Kim, over at Capri's Coupons who has generously offered to send expired coupon to my ever-growing couponing group I started here. Not only that, but she will also be sharing coupons with families at military bases around the world!

Shipping the coupons is the tricky part - sending a simple envelope of coupons is one thing, but we're talking hundreds or even THOUSANDS of coupons being shipped all over the world! If you have a coupon binder with a few hundred coupons in it, you can imagine just how heavy a box would be with THOUSANDS of coupons in it and shipping isn't cheap!

I'm not sure what Kim's goal is, but MY PERSONAL goal is to get a box of expired coupons shipped to EVERY overseas military base EVERY month! Can we do it?? I'm being completely honest here and saying NO - Not if we're shouldering the entire shipping costs ourselves!

Now, this is where YOU come in! Do you have $1 or $2 a month you can spare to help get these coupons to the families that need them? Imagine skipping 1 cup of coffee at the local coffee shop a month and sending that $2.50 to Capri's Coupons to help with shipping?! Could you spare that?

If you're a Starbucks fan (like myself) that 1 coffee is more like $5. Could you skip one every 2 months & donate that money instead? That'd be $2.50 a month helping military families! We need 10 people - just 10 - to commit to $2.50 a month to offset the shipping expense to one base. You'd be helping dozens of military families save money on their groceries and help them stretch their small paychecks that much further!

If you can't spare that much, maybe just skip that soda at lunch and donate $1 a month? If we get 25 people to do just that, we've got the shipping costs to one base covered!

Are you feeling super generous and want to sponsor a base for a year? You can donate the monthly cost for shipping and know that you are helping dozens of military families that are far from home to stretch their grocery budget!

Some people cannot commit to a monthly donation and we completely understand! You can make a 1 time donation also! Any amount will help get these coupons where they need to be!

You can donate as little or as much as you want! If we spread the cost of shipping the coupons over a wider base of people, we can get these coupons where they are needed and can be used without any one person doing it "all".

Read more about Capri's Coups for Troops program by clicking on the "Support our Troops" button below and click "Donate" to send money to help cover the shipping expense!

NOTE: ALL donations received for shipping costs will ONLY be used for that!

Please consider donating for this great cause! AND, even if you aren't able to make a monetary donation, you can help by spreading the word about this program to your family, friends and coworkers!
